The National Bursars Association has announced the inaugural National Awards for School Support Staff. NBA NEBOSH training

The NBA offers accredited NEBOSH training & development through partnership with RRC. This exciting initiative will enable bursars, school business managers, premises managers and other appropriate support staff, the opportunity to gain the necessary skills, knowledge and competence to be able to effectively health & safety within the school environment. The course takes 26 weeks which includes 4 rest weeks and requires approximately 5-6 hours of private study a week. Sharon Golze

Sharon Golze, the Business Manager at Don Valley High School, Doncaster, received the MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list 2004. Sharon was one the first 'case history' contributors to this site. Primary school CSBM graduate — 18 months on

Sue Simcock

Sue Simcock has added an update to her primary 'case history' highlighting how the NCSL training has given her the skills and confidence to expand her role  — this includes giving presentations at local LEA remodelling events on the impact of the school business manager in implementing the National Agreement workforce reforms, particulalry in the primary sector. She has also sourced extra funding of £28,000 for St Chad's school in the last 10 months. Click here for more...

Charles Clarke addresses bursar graduates

Charles Clarke, the former Secretary of State for Education and Skills, addressed graduates of the 'Certificate of School Business Management' (CSBM) course.  Mr Clarke made some important statements with regards to the role of the bursar and their impact in schools in effective 'remodelling'.
